We're Headed to Open Sauce 2026
We're bringing the latest version of Roverdrive to Open Sauce 2026 and giving visitors an early look at everything we've been building.

We're Headed to Open Sauce 2026
Next weekend, we'll be packing up Roverdrive and heading to Open Sauce 2026 in San Mateo.
Over the past year, we've spent countless hours redesigning and rebuilding nearly every part of the Roverdrive experience. Open Sauce will be the first opportunity for hundreds of people to try the latest version, and we're excited to finally see how it holds up in the hands of real users.
Our goal isn't just to show off what we've built—it's to learn from the people using it. We'll be watching how visitors interact with the app, listening to feedback, and taking notes on everything that can be improved.
New Challenge Menu
One of the biggest additions is a completely redesigned challenge menu.
Instead of jumping straight into coding, visitors can browse a collection of programming challenges with varying levels of difficulty. Whether someone has never programmed before or already has experience, there will be something to try.
The challenge system also gives us a much better way to watch how people approach different problems and identify where the experience can be improved.

A Better Code Editor
We've also spent a lot of time rebuilding the programming experience itself.
The drag-and-drop code editor has been redesigned from the ground up to feel smoother, cleaner, and much more intuitive. Blocks are easier to organize, interactions are more responsive, and the overall experience is far more polished than previous versions.
It's a change that might seem small on paper, but it makes programming feel significantly more natural.

Bringing Roverdrive Into 3D
Perhaps the biggest visual change is the move from 2D to 3D.
Previous versions of Roverdrive used a simple top-down view with 2D graphics. Now, every level takes place in a fully 3D environment complete with textured terrain, props, and a new angled camera that makes the world feel much more alive.
It's a huge step forward for the overall experience and gives us a much stronger foundation as we continue expanding the game.

See You at Open Sauce
If you're attending Open Sauce this year, we'd love for you to stop by and say hello.
Whether you're an experienced programmer, a robotics enthusiast, or someone who's just curious about what we're building, we'd love to hear your thoughts. Every conversation and every piece of feedback helps shape where Roverdrive goes next.
We'll see you in San Mateo.
